The scene of Ophthalmic care in Kashmir a decade ago was to seek better and Specialised care beyond the confines of the Valley. Part of it was stemmed by lack of infrastructure, partly due to lack of super specialists dealing with deeper subteleties of eye care and most of it due to myth of getting better care outside Kashmir. The concept behind Perfect Vision was to provide world class contemporary eye care accessible within the valley. The journey started in 2021 with a group of ophthalmologists trained at premier institutes of India like AIIMS, Aravind Eye Care System trained beyond the role of a general eye specialist. Soon Perfect Vision started becoming a referral Centre for complex cases related to corneal diseases, Squint and Paediatric Ophthalmology. After putting in hours of hard work the centre was designated as a corneal transplant centre by central ministry of health in 2023. The result was corneal transplant surgeries being performed within Kashmir easing the burden patients waiting for an eye transplant. The centre also boasts of a paediatric ophthalmology and squint specialist who also holds a prestigious FRCS (Edinburgh) degree who routinely performs novel squint surgeries.

In pursuit of providing better eye care Perfect Vision Eye Hospital has moved to a new premises with improved facilities and space at Hyderpora, Srinagar and has also added satellite centres at Pulwama and Sopore. We hope this is just the beginning with the best yet to come.
